I lived there as a small boy from 1959 to 1962, in a caravan on that windy airfield along with perhaps 50 other caravans housing the familes of airmen. I remember those Thor missiles standing tall against the sky & blowing off liquid oxygen as they were fuelled ready for launch. My father had been on Christmas Island for the hydrogen bomb tests & he kept photos of the mushroom cloud which he would show me if I climbed on his knee. He explained to me that there was a horrible country called Russia that wanted to kill us all and we needed all these missiles to protect ourselves from them. Just recently there had been a huge war started by a horrible country called Germany who also wanted to kill everyone and they had sent huge planes to bomb everyone in the country. Evidence of this bombing was plain to see everywhere in ruined buildings. I was 4 years old & a very sharp child. I understood that the world was a nasty dangerous place; later years living on a Vulcan bomber base (RAF Cottesmore, nearby) and eventually as a young man working for the MoD on warship missile systems in the 70s did nothing to change that view. My daughters know nothing of this & care less. Their world has so far been about having fun & enjoying a carefree life of ever increasing prosperity. However, I can't help feeling that the beast of war is slowly waking up again among nations and that the long cycle of benign history is now behind us. It will be big shock for the younger generation & I hope it doesn't happen but the omens are not good.

nice model. moulds were the clockwork thomas then eleectric as shown here, but there was a model of this in its thomas colours with a 6 wheel chassis. it was the clockwork range that got the 6 wheel.

If this is a heavy model, I see no reason why it should have traction tyres. As for me, these cause a lot of trouble.

I’m thinking of purchasing this product myself, so I don’t need to use the crocodile clips to the actual battery. Just by using the EODB cable plugging it in the EODB socket under the dashboard the panel charges the battery under the bonnet?

Have they got three drivers and firemen? Or are the dead load.

Thomas, the blue tank engine, is particularly excited today as he's been given a special job - to deliver a rare and precious gemstone to the Sodor Museum. THOMAS (chuffing happily) I can't wait to see the sparkling gemstone! It must be very valuable. PERCY (excitedly) Oh, Thomas, you're so lucky! I wish I could go with you. JAMES (teasingly) Too bad, Percy! Thomas gets all the exciting jobs. THOMAS (smiling) Don't worry, Percy. I'll tell you all about it when I get back. INT. KIRK RONAN STATION - DAY Thomas collects the gemstone from the Sodor Museum curator, MR. HASTINGS. MR. HASTINGS (handling the gemstone carefully) Remember, Thomas, this gemstone is very precious. It's known as the "Sodor Star" and is said to bring good luck to anyone who sees it. THOMAS (nods) I'll be very careful, Mr. Hastings. I promise. EXT. SODOR COUNTRYSIDE - DAY As Thomas chuffs along the tracks, he starts to feel curious about the legend of the Sodor Star. THOMAS (thoughtfully) I wonder what makes this gemstone so special? I'd love to learn more about it. As he puffs uphill, Thomas notices an old abandoned mine nearby. THOMAS (curiously) Maybe there's someone at the old mine who knows the legend of the Sodor Star. Thomas decides to take a detour and heads towards the abandoned mine. EXT. ABANDONED MINE ENTRANCE - DAY Thomas enters the mine cautiously. It's dark and spooky inside. Suddenly, he hears a faint voice. VOICE (whispering) Help... help... THOMAS (concerned) Is someone in there? Following the voice, Thomas discovers a little yellow mine cart stuck on a side track. MINE CART (pleading) Please, you must help my friends. They are trapped deeper inside the mine. THOMAS (determined) Of course, I'll help! Hop on, and I'll get you out first. Thomas pulls the little mine cart back to the entrance. MINE CART (grateful) Thank you! Now, please go deeper into the mine and find my friends. INT. ABANDONED MINE - DAY Thomas ventures deeper into the dark and winding mine shafts, guided only by the light of his headlamp. He encounters more mine carts along the way, each asking for help. MINE CART 1 (worried) Please, my friend is trapped under some rocks. MINE CART 2 (frightened) We need water! It's so dry in here. MINE CART 3 (anxiously) Hurry! We're running out of time! Thomas bravely assists each mine cart, one by one, helping them to safety and providing water to the thirsty ones. Finally, he reaches the heart of the mine where he finds the last mine cart, surrounded by glittering gemstones. MINE CART 4 (overjoyed) You made it! Thank you for saving us all. THOMAS (smiling) You're welcome. But why were you all trapped down here? MINE CART 4 (sadly) Long ago, the mine was active, and gemstones were mined here. We were all left behind when the miners abandoned the place. We've been waiting for someone to rescue us. Thomas listens intently as the mine cart tells him the legend of the "Sodor Star." The mine cart explains that the gemstone was once the heart of the mountain, radiating warmth and happiness to everyone around it. MINE CART 4 (whispers) But when it was taken away, the mountain became cold and dark, and bad luck fell upon anyone who possessed the gemstone without a pure heart. THOMAS (realizing) That's why the Sodor Star is said to bring good luck only to those who see it, not those who keep it. MINE CART 4 (nods) Exactly! You must promise to return the Sodor Star to its rightful place in the heart of the mountain, Thomas. Only then will the curse be lifted. THOMAS (determined) I promise! I'll take the gemstone back where it belongs. INT. SODOR MUSEUM - DAY Thomas returns to the Sodor Museum and meets Mr. Hastings. THOMAS (resolute) Mr. Hastings, the Sodor Star belongs to the heart of the mountain. It's the only way to break the curse and bring back the mountain's warmth and happiness. MR. HASTINGS (smiling) Well done, Thomas. You've proven to be a truly special engine. I will make sure the gemstone is returned to its rightful place. EXT. MISTY MOUNTAIN - DAY With the help of the other engines, Thomas carries the Sodor Star to the peak of Misty Mountain, where the heart of the mountain lies. THOMAS (whispering) Goodbye, Sodor Star. Return to where you belong. As Thomas gently places the gemstone into a glowing crevice, the mountain starts to shine brightly with warmth and happiness. EXT. TIDMOUTH SHEDS - SUNSET The engines gather at Tidmouth Sheds, excited to hear about Thomas's adventure. PERCY (enthusiastically) Tell us everything, Thomas! THOMAS (smiling) Well, Percy, I learned that the Sodor Star is meant to bring joy and luck to everyone, not just to those who keep it. And the true value of the gemstone lies in its place, deep in the heart of Misty Mountain. The other engines listen intently, realizing the importance of sharing happiness with others. JAMES (appreciatively) You really are a special engine, Thomas. THOMAS (humbly) Thank you, but we're all special in our own way. We bring happiness to the people of Sodor by working together. The engines cheer in agreement, grateful for their friendship and the lessons they've learned from Thomas's extraordinary adventure. FADE OUT.

Ingenious.... I had no idea of this range. I picked up some of these brightly coloured pieces of rolling stock over the years and wondered if they were part of the "Thomas The Tank Engine" series. I was going to repaint mine but after seeing this I will keep them in their original colours. Great video...thank for ending the mystery for me.
